Admission Process
MICA follows a rigorous three-stage, merit-based process for its flagship PGDM-C and PGDM programs.
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university. Final-year students eligible (must submit proof by June 30, 2026; final marks/degree by Dec 31, 2026).
Stage 1 – Shortlisting via MICAT + National Tests: Candidates must appear for MICAT (mandatory institute test conducted in Dec/Jan/Feb; best score considered). MICAT has three sections: Psychometric Test (qualifying), Descriptive Test, and Aptitude Test (Divergent & Convergent Thinking, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, General Awareness). Shortlisting also requires valid CAT-2025 / XAT-2026 / GMAT (recent scores) meeting institute cut-offs (no fixed public percentile; holistic + sectional cut-offs applied). Psychometric test is qualifying; only candidates clearing all MICAT cut-offs + national test cut-offs proceed. Application fee: ₹2,500 (single programme) or +₹500 per additional (max 3 from one school). Apply online; admissions for 2026 intake now closed – check portal for updates.
Stage 2 – Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates (results ~Feb 28, 2026) attend GE + PI at multiple centres (Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai) in March 2026. GE evaluates teamwork, communication, and problem-solving; PI assesses personality, creativity, career goals, and fit.
Final Merit List (on or before April 15, 2026): Weighted score – CAT/XAT/GMAT (35%) + MICAT (25%) + GE (10%) + PI (20%) + Academics (10th/12th/Graduation: 5%) + Diversity/Extracurriculars (5%). Separate merit lists for PGDM-C and PGDM; composite placement process. NRI/PIO candidates via GMAT + MICAT + GE/PI. Process is holistic, transparent, and emphasizes creativity alongside academics. Offers are programme-specific; no switching allowed
