How to Calculate Your XAT Score
XAT score = Correct × 1 − Wrong × 0.25 − (Unattempted − 8) × 0.10
Applies to Part 1 (VALR, DM, QA&DI). The skip term is never negative. GK is scored separately with no negative marking.

What is XAT?
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to XLRI and over 160 other B-schools. It is known for its Decision Making section, which tests judgement through business and ethical caselets, alongside Verbal & Logical Ability and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. XAT is held in a single session, so there is no slot normalisation.

- Check sectional scores: XLRI applies sectional cut-offs, so a weak section matters.
- Shortlist schools: compare your estimated percentile with the cut-off table above.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the XAT score calculated?
Each correct answer earns +1 and each wrong answer costs −0.25. In Part 1, the first 8 unattempted questions are free and each further unattempted question costs −0.10.
Is GK counted in the XAT score?
GK is scored separately with no negative marking and is not used to calculate your percentile. This calculator shows it on its own row.
How do I get my XAT response sheet link?
Log in to xatonline.in, open the response sheet, and copy the digialm.com page address. Paste it into the calculator, or paste the page source if the link has expired.
How accurate is this XAT score calculator?
The score follows the official XAT marking exactly, using the answer key shown in your response sheet. The percentile is an estimate from an indicative model and may differ from the official result.
What is a good XAT score?
On indicative recent data, about 25 in Part 1 has been near the 90th percentile and the mid to high 30s near the 99th. These bands shift with paper difficulty.
Does XAT have normalisation?
No. XAT is held in a single session, so percentiles are based on raw Part 1 scores.
Is my data private?
Your contact details are used only to send your report and updates you agreed to. Public averages on this page use scores only, without names or contact details.
Should I guess in XAT?
A blind guess on a five-option question has an expected value of 0, while a skip beyond the free 8 costs 0.10. Once you have used your free skips, an educated guess is usually better than leaving a question blank.
